The International Food & Beverage Alliance brings together global, regional and national food and non-alcoholic beverages companies around a common goal of helping consumers around the world to achieve balanced diets and healthy, active lifestyles. Our work is based on a set of actions recognized by the World Health Organization, governments and civil society as crucial to helping improve global health — product innovation, improved access to nutrition information, responsible marketing practices, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles.

Guiding  Principles:

United Nations and World Health Organization strategies on global public health recognize that efforts to help people improve their diets and health require a whole-of-society effort and actions by all stakeholders – including the private sector.  As companies, we take this responsibility seriously and have committed to working in collaboration with all stakeholders in the execution of our commitments and realization of the global public health strategies of the United Nations and World Health Organization.

Our work is based on a set of recommendations for our industry identified in the 2004 WHO Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health, the 2011 UN Political Declaration of the High-level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases and the WHO Global Action Plan on the Prevention and Control of Noncommunicable Diseases, 2013-2020.

We will encourage others, including small- and medium-sized companies, to follow our lead.

Transparency and accountability underpin our efforts.  We will monitor and publicly report on our progress.
